AB/DL (Adult Baby/Diaper Lover) is an abbreviated terminology that describes two different aspects of adult diaper fetishism.
An Adult Baby (AB) is one who engages in infantile-like role-play as an adult, also known as Infantilism. An Adult Baby may or may not be attracted sexually to the usage of diapers or the act of regressing to a child-like role as an adult. Infantalism involves role-playing exclusively with other like minded adults and is not related to pedophilia, or any form of child abuse. Adult Babies’ attractions are rooted in being an adult regressed to an infant-like state. Adult babies typically seek adult mommies, daddies, caretakers, friends, to roleplay and share these type of experiences.
A Diaper Lover (DL) is usually only attracted to the usage of diapers but may also be attracted to masochistic, punishment, or humiliation experiences along with diapers. “DL only” implies a person not typically interested in infantilism roleplay.
Diaper Fetishism involves wearing diapers for sexual or erotic reasons but may not involve infant-like behavior.
Individuals who experience or enjoy both aspects together are referred to as AB/DL.
Adult Baby Lifestyle
For many people, being an Adult Baby is more than just a fetish, it is a lifestyle. Many people claim that they were very young when they developed feelings such as enjoying the use of diapers or infantile-like role-play and that it never left them as they aged. Therefore, infantilism is another form of sexual orientation and/or preference that carries a particular lifestyle alongside it.
Individuals within this lifestyle typically seek to share it with a companion or others. Due to the difficulty for someone within the AB lifestyle to find understanding and support from outside of the community, social sites like this are created, so that AB/DLs may reach out and meet one another. It is also important to spread awareness and help others to understand, to alleviate struggles within the community by addressing stigmas and misunderstandings that may surround it.
